Kim Suhr -- Prior to launching Red Oak Young Writers, Kim was the Director of Young Author Programs at Redbird Studio in Milwaukee, WI where she taught in a variety of programs, from the summer camps to the Redbird Young Author Roundtables. Kim holds degrees in English and education and enjoys writing in a variety of genre herself.

Pam Parker -- In summer, Pam takes a short break from writing novels to share her expertise with our young writers. Pam crafts exercises and styles her feedback after what works for writers in the “real world.”Pam’s writing has been published in Wisconsin Woman magazine, and her teaching background makes her a valuable asset to our participants & staff.

Robert Vaughan -- Robert lists his involvement with young writers as one of his favorite things about the summer.Robert has completed his first novel, and his poetry has been included in an Anthology of Best Poems and Poets for 2004. His plays have been produced in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Milwaukee.

Katie Lance -- Katie has had a long history with the Redbird Studio Young Author camps: from camper to teacher. Summer writing camps bring two of her joys of life together: working with young people and writing. When not studying orworking abroad, she is a student at UW-Eau Claire, studying foreign languages and education.

Kris Jaeger -- A former technical writer, Kris has been writing personally and professionally for a number of years. As a parent of a creative writing camp participant, she can speak first hand of the writing confidence her son hasgained from his summers at camp. Kris holds a Liberal Arts degree and is pursuing teaching licensure with a Language Arts/Writing focus from Alverno College.

At Red Oak, we believe that everyone has a writer inside, and it is our job to help that writer blossom and emerge.

As writers ourselves, we understand the craft.As teachers, we understand how to nurture that craft in our young writers.
